Wondering about internet connection
i am using dial up connection to access the internet (using GSM/CDMA modem and sometimes GSM/CDMA mobile phone as a modem) The connection is sometimes fast but most of times is slow. And there are times when the connection is very fragile to disconnection. What are the causes of disconnections? How to avoid it and keep the connection alive? Why are the connection sometimes slow and sometimes fast? How to fasten it? Any methods of getting it faster? what is IP? what is proxy server? what is gateway? what is DNS? what is WINS? Where is the good place to start to learn about network and/or internet connection (such as diagnostic, knowledgebase and anything else)? Thanks beforehand for the helping answers1 person needs an answerI do too

HiI doubt that this is an OS problem.Dialup Mobile connections are not very stable in maintaining speed and continuation. It has to do more with the phone and the Internet service through it rather than the computer. Jack, MVP-Networking. EZLAN.NET
