Won't Boot
I just changed my power supply from a 550w to a 700wRetail PlusX Premium power supply ATX12V The problem is the computer (before power change to New 700 )was working fine as far as operating system win 7-64bit was concerned, but it to have an emergency 300w power supply installed after the original 500w power supply blew. This was only temporary and everything worked fine...Until I installed the New 700wRetail Plus X Premium should be perfect Power Supply!!! No problem at all fit like a glove It has more Sata plug than old one It's a perfect fit physically and sufficient in power as well plug all plugs pproperly and recheck all plug !!!Then press power It starts all proper right up to the starting windows screen with the spinning window logo and freezes dead Stop so I start it again same thing 3 days now same thing ??? That is as far as it gets, no matter what I do even with a win 7 boot disk it loads the files then goes to starting windows and freezes.I can access the bios, and I reset it to factory, and everything else I could try nothing work or helps in any way. I cant get a command prompt either. have not done a BIOS update yet but have the update ready but how do i doit when i cant even load it.I'm completely stumped does anybody have any Idea what is going on. I have tried every kind of boot on the F8 Menu It freezes Right as the Starting Windows first spinning star red appears then FZZZZZZ the Red HDD light goes out -stops blinking - showing its working ya know,I've tried emergency boot disks it says repaired reboot same thing . Try booting from CD, DVD, USB, external HD always the same freezes at same spot. Its like right there the keyboard and moose USB light goes out and its goes dead right there. Its looses or shuts of the power to certain thing. All the fans and light on MOBO stay lit right, network yellow and green lights on lan plugin on mobo works, the monitor works fine. I can access the bios F2 and F8.But no matter what I try always the same freezes exact same spot. when attempting to boot into one of the repair modes or safe mode all 3 of them it loads to a file CLASS.PNP.SYS says its loaded and freezes there. I have also ripped the thing up and down two times now, cleaning and checking every plug and every wire looking for that possible bad connection or defective plug-wire nothing so far everything look's Perfect. The only real difference that I can physically see is the the SATA output power plugs connectors to the SATA HDD input have a 5th orange wire on the plug. The old power supply 500 w had only 1 SATA plug with just the 4 wires, the 1-yellow 2-black and 1-red wire... The new one has a 5th orange colored wire. Could this have something to do with it ??? Its a 3.3 v wire it says.Checked the hardware monitor in bios all is well It putting out the perfect levels for all 12v, 5v and 3.3v power it says???...I'm completely puzzled and completely stumped??? But I am just as determined to figure this out and get my baby back to working order. hopefully real fast LOL!!Any and I mean any help will be gratefully appreciated Thanks

One thing for sure, this is not a Windows 7 problem. You have a hardware problem! It may be a defective power supply. You may have something plugged in wrong causing either an overload or a short. This is a situation in which YOU will have to inspect your hardware extrememly carefully to ensure YOU have everything connected correctly. As fo the extra wire on the SATA plugs you will have to contact the manufacturer and ask them about this. This is a Windows 7 operating system software froum. This is not a hardware forum. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, As Rick Dee says, regarding the hardware problems, I think that it is better to contact the manufacturer for assistance. Thanks for understanding. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
