Wireless problem with WD MyBookWorld NAS
When my notebook with Windows 7 (build 7100) is connected to my home network via wireless, if I try to access a password protected share on my WD MyNookWorld NAS, Win7 asks me for my credentials and then it goes in timeout. Moreover, if I try to open the configuration web page, nothing happens: the browser remains in the "waiting for mybookworld.lan" state. However, I can connect to a public share and also logging with SSH (also internet is perfectly working) Then, if I connect to my network by wire, everything works ok: I can browse the password protected share and the configuration webpage. My notebook is a Dell Mini 9, SSD 64Gb, 1Gb RAM, wireless adaptor by Broadcom (driver version 5.10.79.7). I have no firewall and no antivirus running. I tried to disable IPV6, switched from dynamic to static IP and updated the wireless card, but nothing. The firmware of MyBookWorld is 2.00.18 and my router is a Thomson Speedtouch ST780, firmware 6.2.17.5 Before Win7, XP was working smoothly on my notebook. I also tried connecting to the web page wireless with my DSi () and the page loaded fine. I also connected my notebook to an other WD mybookworld edition that was on internet, outside my home network, always via wireless connection to the router and it worked In my home network, I have also a desktop running XP connected via ethernet to the router. From my notebook I can see and browse the shares on the XP, and if I start a web server on XP I can browse the web site from my notebook (so th problem seem to be only with the WD NAS). My idea is that the problem is in the network adapter drivers, but I would like an opinion about it. Thanks!

This might just be a dumb question - what kind of security/encryption are you using? WPA2-AES?If you don't have the highest level Win7 might not play nice. Definitely the situation with draft N specs,... Just a thought.

Hello Giorgio,Have you tried any older driver versions in compatibility mode for both the NAS and the wireless card?-Scott
