Wireless only works after reboot on HP laptop

I've got a weird problem with my laptop since I've installed 8.1 When I boot my laptop, it connects to my wireless network but says the connection is limited. There's no internet connection. I've checked the adapter configuration and it seems it doesn't have an IP address although the wireless panel says it's connected.

Disabling / disconnecting and reconnecting doesn't make any difference; it won't work.

Then I reboot my laptop, and voila: everything is working as soon as I log in. Then at night I shut down my laptop, take it to work in the morning and exactly the same happens: first try, no connectivity, reboot: everything works. Weird, right?

I've already tried updating to the latest Intel wireless drivers available for Windows 8, but that didn't fix it. Anyone have any

Did you upgrade to Windows 8.1 or is it fresh install?

What is model and manufacturer of your PC?

When connect to internet, open Internet Explorer and run diagnose connection or run diagnose connection or troubleshoot network , from Action Center under Troubleshoot.

I'm experiencing a similar problem on my ThinkPad T430 (upgraded to 8.1 Pro from 8.0 Pro via ISO). Upon boot or wake from sleep, the charms bar displays that it is connected to WiFi, but the Network Center displays that there is no network. There is no IPv4 or IPv6 connectivity. Troubleshooting, updating drivers, and disabling/re-enabling the wireless adapter won't fix the problem, but a reboot magically solves the issue.

My adapter is a Centrino Wireless-N 2200. Are you also using a similar device?

I did a fresh install.

Notebook is a HP 65060b. I've upgraded the Intel PROset drivers to the latest available version.

When connected to the internet, the diagnose tools cannot find any issues (which seems logical).

Yes, I am also using a Centrino Wireless, mine is the N 6205. I'm experiencing exactly the same issues as you're describing.
