Wireless on laptop can't be enabled
Hi! I have a problem with Windows 7 RC on my FSC Amilo L1310G laptop. It has an Atheros 5005G wireless adapter onboard that Windows recognizes and installs a driver for (Manufacturer: Microsoft, Date: 2009-03-11, Version: 2.0.0.70). It says the device is functioning properly. My problem is, I simply can't enable the wi-fi. The laptop has a button for it and a blue LED to confirm that it is active, but in Windows 7, the button does nothing. No blue light and no networks to be found. I managed to "update" the driver to the 2005 version that comes on the CD, but the problem remains the same. The other buttons (launch browser for example) do work, so I do not think I would need a driver to make those work. Has anyone encountered a similar problem and can give me any hints as to how I might get it up and running? Thanks in advance! Christian

I had same problem with my Acer 5023 laptop. I solved it when I download and install special application from Acer site which names Launch Manager for Vista.

You will need a driver from Atheros or from your laptop manufacturer's website to get the button to work.
