Wireless not working on Toshiba laptop
I installed Windows 7 RC on the laptop that used to run XP Pro (It worked GREAT with XP). After installing Windows 7, it gave a message that there is a problem with the wireless card BUT it worked great (running Windows 7). I was able to see other computers on the network and go to the Internet. All of a sudden, it QUIT seeing other computers and it says "unidentified network" instead of 2wire077 like it used to on my wireless network. I don't know how to change it to HOME network as opposed to unidentified or public. I went to Intel's site and downloaded the latest driver (it was the same that was installed on the laptop from the beginning) but remember, it USED to work fine. Any ideas??

In the network and sharing center there should say what type of network it is (public, home, or what ev) and you can click on it to change. My other idea would be to try to repair the router from right clicking on the network icon on the bottom of the screen and selecting reapair the connection and reset the router. Unidentified usually pops up when the connection has some errors and I just reset my router.

I tried various things - It wont let me change the type of network...I get a box that comes up and LOOKS like I can type in the box as it is highlighted but you cannot type any letters in the box. I just tried to change the homegroup settings and the error message is now "Wireless network connection doesn't have a valid IP"

that box is changing the name of the network.Have you tried updating your adapter or your router? Right now I'm on my XP and I'll be able to help more when I get home in 50 mins on my Win 7rc computer.
