Wireless mouse & Keyboard do not function with Windows 7
I did a clean install from Vista to Windows7. Originally the wireless mouse and keyboard functioned as it should. After what I am assuming was a Windows update the wireless ceased to function. I first did a system restore...no help, I then un-installed and re-installed all the updated software and drivers...no help, I then tried the wireless mouse and keyboard on another pc w/Windows XP...they worked as they should. The device manager shows the wireless receiver as a 'unknown device" (code 43). Anyone have any ideas. Would really appriciate some help.....Thanks

Your best bet, then, if they worked under xp but not "7", would be to check the settings setup is using to install the drivers. You can do this by right-clicking the icon for the setup program, choosing properties, and doing three things: 1) on the general tab, select run as an administrator, and click apply. 2) on the compatibility tab, you can elect to run the program in compatibility mode for windows xp, and click apply. 3)on the security tab, you need to make sure that the account you are using is listed and has the appropriate permissions. If you need to , you can edit these and add them in. click apply, then close the menu, and try running setup for the drivers. be aware that you generally need to restart windows before you can use new devices when installing them. If this doesnt work for you, then you can try uninstalling the devices in device manager, and then re-install them by using the "scan for new hardware" option under the action menu header, choosing to let you pick from the available drivers, and then having windows show you the list of drivers it can find by itself. If none of these work, or if it finds none, then you can use the "have disk" option to point windows towards your cd-rom where the drivers are at, and install can load them from there using the elevated install priviledge by itself. you will still need to restart the windows system to use the devices, and be sure to double-check your bios settings, too, that the "usb mouse and keyboard" setting is active/enabled there, also."While there is NO SUCH THING as a WRONG QUESTION, the EASIEST THING TO GET in the world is a WRONG ANSWER!" 15 years of hands-on-how-to; I "DO" WINDOWS !!!

Hi, Please understand that this is Windows Vista Forum. In order to get the answer effectively, it is recommended to post a new thread in Windows 7 Forum for discussion. Personally, you may try the following suggestions for this issue: 1. Please ensure that all the drivers are installed and update the BIOS and chipset. 2. Please go to the manufacturer’s site to check if the Wireless mouse and Keyboard are compatible with Windows 7 system. 3. Also, you may open Device and Printers, right click the Bluetooth device, select Troubleshoot to fix the problem. 4. Additionally, there are some information for your reference: Add a Bluetooth or other wireless or network device: frequently asked questions Regards, Sabrina This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees, and confers no rights. |Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
