Wireless link from a laptop on XP Pro to a PC running Window 7, to access the hardwired printer.
Trying to do a wireless link from a laptop running XP Pro, to connect with my PC tower running Windows 7, to access the hardwired Canon Pixma iP3300 printer. For all other purposes, the LAN works well for this older laptop. I can use the printer off the laptop if I make a direct hardwire connection. Two different consultants have drawn a blank.A newer laptop running Windows 7 accesses the printer flawlessly via the LAN.

Have you allowed printer sharing on the Windows 7 box and is it in the same workgroup or domain as the XP box?If the printer is a USB printer, you may find it worthwhile to purchase a printer server like http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=482 . That's what I did. Share up to four USB printers or give a network-capable printer a wireless function even when it doesn't have that.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]
