Wireless internet will not work once I plug in the LAN
Im running windows vista premium, and I currently log on to the internet through a 2wire wireless modem. Everything is fine until I plug in the network cable which is connected to a router. I use this to communicate with 2 other computers in my room. The router is NOT connected to the internet, and i would like to keep it that way. Its like my laptop tries to look for the internet through the LAN, and times out, without looking at the wireless network, or somehow its overiding my wireless connection. Can anyone help?

Hi, This issue can occur if a default gateway is also configured on the wired connection (two default gateways are configured on the system). If so, please remove the default gateway on the wired connection. Instead, you may add a static route in the routing table using the command route add if it is necessary. For more information, please refer to the following For more information, please refer to the following articles: How to Configure a Default Gateway for Multihomed Computer with LAN and Internet Access http://support.microsoft.com/kb/262397 The IP routing table http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/63158f32-9fcd-42ea-ba2f-8008bb7bb5241033.mspx?mfr=true Hope it helps.
