Wireless file transfer from laptop to network hard drive
Everysince SP1 came through I am unable to transfer data between my laptop and my wireless network hard drive. I always like to take my documents and put a copy of them on my network hard drive, also, Windows live one care backs up to the drive wirelessly as well. When I start the file transfer everything works for a while and then I get kicked off of the network. I thought it was the router and bought a new one and that's not the issue. The Hard drive works fine any other way so I know that's not the issue. I reconnect and then I get kicked off again. I have called Microsoft Live one care and they cant help. I have called Dell (the manafacture of my computer and they can't help, they told me to call Microsoft). I called Microsoft support for SP1 and they can't help. I really get no error messages. I have Windows Home Premium. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks seeyainafew

Hi, Is the wireless network hard drive located in the same site as the Windows Vista laptop? Or do you need to access it via Internet? Would it be better ifyou transfer files between the Windows Vista laptop and the network hard drive over wired connection? Will you encounter the same issue? First, I suggest performing the following steps to troubleshoot the issue: 1. Disable Auto-Tuning on Windows Vista machine and check the result:a. Click Start, and type cmd in the Start Search box.b. Right-click the cmd icon, and select Run as Administrator.c. In the Command Prompt, type the following command:netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled 2. Perform a clean boot:How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vistahttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 3. Please transfer files again and check the result. Note: Please re-enable Auto Tuning by typing the following command if the steps abovecannot fix the issue:netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal Hope it helps.
