Hi, I suggest you perform a Clean Boot to troubleshoot this issue. Step 1: Start the System Configuration Utility =================================== Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK. Step 2: Configure selective startup options =================================== 1. In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click the General tab, and then click Selective Startup. 2. Click to clear the Process SYSTEM.INI File check box. 3. Click to clear the Process WIN.INI File check box. 4. Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box. 5. Click the Services tab. 6. Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box. 7. Click Disable All, and then click OK.. 8. When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer. Note: Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled, we can re-enable them later. If you see the System Configuration Utility, check the box of "Don't show this message" and then click "OK". Please monitor the system in the Clean Boot environment. If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to one application or service we have disabled. You may use the MSCONFIG tool again to re-enable the disabled item one by one to find out the culprit. Thanks for the qucik response. I will try the step you have mentioned. Since i am not a technical person, i am little bit affraid that i will mess up with the system. Hope this won't affect my system's performace. Just to be more clear on my request, my wireless as well as lan connection drops out on every 2 hours. I have installed Service pack 3, still the problem is still going on. In my other laptop which is also a Windows XP operating system, is working fine. I really don't know what is going. If you have any other suggestions please let me know asap.
