Wireless connection LAG when gaming and using VPN
Greetings, I am experiencing severe lag with wireless connection when gaming (WOW) or using VPN. Spikes go fom 100ms to 6000ms and sometimes disconnect. If I hardwire the same PC there is no problem, and worse spike is at 300ms. I have 2 wireless routers, DLIK and Lynksys, and experiece same problem regardless of the network. Routers are about 3 Meters away (10 feet). Mi collegue who also have a wieless remote connection experienced the same problem, in his home. Once he hardwired the PC he was fine. I understand that Windows polls the network for more favourable AP, even in the home environment where normally you connect to one Access point for the duration. This lag defeats the purpose of going wireless. I see little in Microsoft forums to address this. Older version of Windows and a wireless Zero point service that could be disabled (which apparently corrected the problem) what is the equivalent in Windows 7, how can we prevent this severe lag every 45-60 sec. Thanks

Hi, Please try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Upgrade the router’s firmware for a test. 2. Restart the machine in Safe Mode with Networking and verify whether the symptom occurs in this mode. 3. Upgrade the Wireless adapter driver. If the issue persists, please replace another Wireless network adapter to check the result. Thanks, Novak
