Wireless association failed due to an unknown reason
I have a brand new desktop computer with a built-in wireless card and Windows Vista Home Premium. I have a wireless network with WEP (in fact, it doesn't make a difference whether I have WEP, WPA, or whatever). When I try to connect the computer to the network, I get a connection failure, "wireless association failed due to an unknown reason." The Microsoft network tool sees several other wireless networks in the area, and shows reasonable signal strength on all of them. The hardware diagnostic tool on the computer shows that the hardware is working. How do I connect? Bear in mind that I also have a relatively new computer with a built-in wireless card which does successfully connect with WEP. Thanks!

I fixed the problem. I had to bring the computer to a wired connection, where I downloaded the latest Vista updates (even though it's a brand new machine) and Lite-on wireless drivers (again, on a brand new machine). After installing the updates, the machine was able to connect wirelessly.
