Wireless and cable network connection - Enabling Internet access on a computer that is connected to the network by a crossover cable to a networked computer
I have 3 desktop PCs. Machine A is Win 7, machine B is XP, machine C is XP.Machine A is connected to the router by cable and the internet connection works. Machine B is a wireless connection (the same router as machine A) and the internet connection did work when I was using only machines A and B. Now I have connected machine C to machine B with a crossover cable and the machine B wireless internet connection does not work.I have tried manual IP addresses and bridge (since removed). If I ping from machine A to B I get the time out response and the same if I ping from machine B to A. However pinging from machine B to C and C to B does work.I expect I have omitted some important setting, so can anyone point me in the right direction

HiIf bridging, the connection between C to B has first to be configured with a static IP that is on other subnet* , and then bridge.Alternatively, use ICS, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126/en-us *On SubnetClassical IP looks like this (example), 192.168.1 .x The first three groups are also called Subnet , and they identify the specific Network, x can be a number from 0 to 255, and it identifies each unique device on the Network. An IP of 192.168.2 .x would be a Subnet of another Network. To assign a Static IP see here, http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/how-to-assign-a-static-ip-address-in-xp-vista-or-windows-7/Jack - Microsoft MVP, Windows Networking.
