Wireless Zero Configuration will NOT stay enabled.
Hello,Earlier today I made the mistake of clicking on my Dell WLAN wireless network icon thereby activating it and disabling my Wireless Zero Configuration. I immediately went to services.msc and started WZC again but I cannot manage to get it to stay enabled. Once I reboot my computer, WZC is off. I've disabled Broadcom from my Startup Menu. I've added at .bat file per instructions I read (see below), and it still will not work! Previously both WZC and Dell WLAN appeared simultaneously in my startup menu without Dell interfering. Now, I can't even get WZC to stay. Someone please help! I want to use WZC!4. Use notepad to create below batch file:@echo offcd c:\documents and settings\your name\ sc config wzcsvc start=auto& SC start wzcsvc"your name" is the name that comes up when you click on "start"save file in local disk c:\windows\system32Save file with a filename that will make sense to you with extension".bat"make sure to select "all files" on the next field before you click "save"cOPY this file and place in in your startup folder.location of your start up folder"local disk C:\document and settings\yourname\start menu\programs\startup\Also, both WZC and Dell WLAN were unable to detect the wireless network where I am staying. Both WZC and Dell sense other, weaker wireless networks nearby but neither one of them show my wireless network. Every other computer that visits this house has no trouble, but mine does. Any ideas? Thanks. 1 person needs an answerI do too

HiYeah, the running Dell utility keeps disabling it, actually you are better Off this way since two Wireless Utilities should not work at the same time (it "confuses" the connection). If you prefer to use WZC, get rid of the Dell Utility.Find clean drivers (not attached to the utility), uninstall whatever is there, and Install the clean drivers without the Dell utility. As far as WZC goes, http://www.ezlan.net/wzc.html Jack-MVP Windows Networking. Thanks for the help, Jack. If the Dell is disabled on start-up how is it disabling my WZC? And, as for un-installing and installing files, can you point me in the direction of which ones please? I'm completely flying blind. Thanks.
