Wireless Systray icon shows Not connected when it is.
Also try to reinstall wireless card driver for test. Logon with Clean Boot to see if the same issue occurs. I am running Win7 on a Dell Latitude mD530. Whether it is a public or home network, the wireless systray icon indicates I am not connected (graybars with yellow dot). If I open the Network and sharing center I am clearly connected and can use a browser. The icon is animated when it is searching for an IP address, but defaults to gray bars and yellow dot instead on the connected icon, green bars. Hmmmmm.

ignore it as its a non fatal problem, I have seen it myself. Reboots usually clear it up. The problem is the module handling the icon seems to fatigue when the machine is saturated during the boot process Windows MVP 2010-11, XP, Vista, 7.
