Wireless Network with Vista and XP
I have used a linksys wireless network between my two XP computers for some time now. I have recently replaced my desktop with a Vista machine. I have been able to get both systems to access the web through the router but not to share files. In vista I can see both machines in the network screen but some how the Vista desktop has the XP laptop classified as an "Open Media Player" and not a computer. I have no idea how to change this or even delete the laptop from the networs so maybe the net time it is added Vista will see it as a computer with a file system. I really could use some help! I need to get file sharinggoing. In the process of trouble shooting I have established several workgroups. How can I get rid of the ones I do not use?

I have the exact same issue. I can see my other computers on the network map, but not on "see other network devices" i am not sure what the issue is. I also need file and printer sharing to work. I seem to go in circles and always end up back at network page... I hope someone has some info.
