Wireless Network Not Working
I am using a Realtek RTL8187 Wireless Network Adaptor for my laptop, and it looks as if it works fine. It says connected, with no trouble. But when I click on the connection, it says a lot of info was sent and none received. I can't really use wi-fi without this thing so please help!1 person got this answerI do too

Let's see if you're really connected:1. Click Start > Run then type the three letters cmd into the box and click OK.2. Type this command and press Enter: ipconfig /all > "%UserProfile%\Desktop\ip.txt" {Enter}3. Open the file IP.txt on your desktop4. Copy and paste the text into your response.

For some reason, it says it sends a lot of packets, but never receives any. When I use Firefox with it, it says it's gonna work in offline mode.

The wireless network adapter is misconfigured. It appears to have been set with a static IP, and a static IP in the wrong subnet at that. Given that your router's IP address is 192.168.1.1 (the "Default Gateway"), your network adapters, both wired and wireless, should be in the form 192.168.1.xRight-click on the icon for "Wireless Network Connection 2" Click on Properties On the "General" tab, select the entry for Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties buttonEnsure that the radio buttons for "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" are selectedClick the Advanced button Click the WINS tab and ensure that the radio button to "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" is selectedOK your way out. Reboot the computer.
