Wireless N network only connects at 54 mbps instead of 300 mbps
I have a d-link dir-655 router and a d-link dwa-552 adapter.I am running Win 7 on a separate drive from my Vista install. My Vista is connecting to the N network at 300 mbps, while Win 7 is only connecting at 54 mbps. Any thoughts on how to get a full connection on Win 7?thanks

Are you sure your computer is using 802.11n? How did you know? By hovering the mouse over the list of Wireless networks, accessible from the notification area? How do you tell the bandwidth it's using?

I can tell that it is 54 mbps by clicking on the connection I am using in the "network and sharing center. " This takes me to "wireless connection status" which shows the connection speed.I have the router setup as G and N only because I still need G for some of my other devices. It just seems that Win 7 is using the N adapter I have installed as G only

I'm having the same problem only thing I heard is that N wasn't as stable in Windows 7 for some reason. I have it dual booted. The new drivers from microsoft and the old ones for vista both work for G but have the same problem

I fixed it by reinstalling original drivers for Vista. I Should have thought of that earlier, been a long day!!Anyways, thanks!

I have the same problem. Have not tried installing the Vista drivers yet...have you run into any problems? I'm assuming there are some issues around D-link Win7 drivers for 802.11n at this moment. Can someone from MSFT or D-Link comment on the status of 802.11n support in Win7?
