Wireless LAN issue with Marvell Libertas card
I have an Acer Aspire T180 with an EM61SM Motherboard (looks to be a Foxcon MCP61SM with an Acer Phoenix Bios on it) and a Trendnet Wireless PCI card (Marvell Libertas chipset). When running with 1Gb or 2Gb of memory, everything works great. When I upgrade to 3Gb or 4Gb, the card gets a Code 10 on boot-up. I have tried the memory cards in just about every possible bank position to no avail. I have also tried the card in both available PCI car slots The board also worked perfectly for about 3 years on a Windows XP system. OS - Vista Home Premium - Version 6 Build 6000 - All updates installed LAN card driverversion - Microsoft 1.0.0.49 Vista Hardware Advisor shows no issues with the LAN card Any ideas on what I can do to get a Wireless LAN running?

I have the same problem with my Marvell Libertas card in Vista. When I upgrade to 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM, I get the error in device manager with the card also. That's horrible considering the driver is WHQL certified. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Have you tried running a windows vista compatibility scan? maybe your device isn't compatible, i have the same computer with 2.5 gb RAM (exact same motherboard) and aperently trhe same type of Wireless PCI card, on windows xp, mo problems so far, i had this computer for about a year... PS: Is this motherboard compatible with AM2 (940) CPUs? cuz i want to upgrade it from an AMD Athlon +3500 to an AMD Athlon x2 +3600, will it fit in this motheboard? (MCP61SM-EM61SM/EM61PM is what CPU-Z says)

Well, exact same problem: upgraded by Vista station from 2 to 4GB of RAM and the device manager tells me that the marvell libertas wireless adapter can not be started correctly! I can't believe this! Any suggestions?

The Windows Vista Compatibility scan says that everything is compatible. I had no problems with the board when running under Windows XP. This seems to be a Vista type of thing. My mobo is running an Athalon 64 X2 +4000, so I would expect the +3600 to be easily compatible. Keep in mind that XP will only see the first core, and not the second.

I've removed 1 of the 2x2GB Sticks, the wireless card works. I then added an additional 512MB stick, the card doesnt work. Error Code 10 - service cant be initialised.Anything over the 2GB threshold stops my PCMCIA wireless card working.Does anyone have a work around for this.Does anyone have a list of working pcmcia wireless adapters that work with 4GB of ram in 32bit Vista?

Unbelievable!! Last post was Nov 07 and STILL no advice/solution??? If XP could run dual core, I'd just revert but *ah well*. Maybe LINUX has what we need

Go to Linux is my advice; however, to use libertas you have to use the windows drivers with ndiswrapper, but works fine with my libertas chipset wireless card, and is very easy to set up.

I have a Rosewill RNX-G300E PCI wireless card in a system running Windows Vista Home Premium. I was having the same issue with the 2GB memory limit. The Marvell Libertas driver worked fine with only 2GB of system memory, but failed to start with a code 10 if I upgraded to 3GB or 4GB. I finally got a fix from the Rosewill tech support folks. They supplied a new driver at : http://www.rosewill.com/download/search_details.aspx?type=2&product=935 . It was difficult to install. The Update driver button in Device manager wouldn't do it and right-clicking the .inf file and selecting install did not work. I finally uninstalled the existing driver/device, shutdown, removed the PCI card, rebooted, deleted the old driver file MRVW13B.SYS everywhere it was located, shutdown again, re-installed the card, rebooted, and used the new hardward wizard to install the newly supplied driver. Now all is good. Card works great with 3GB of memory installed.

Now the link is updated http://www.rosewill.com/support/download.aspx?ids=3_39_112_935IsRNX-G300-E is compatible with marvell wireless chipset ?

I have a TrendNet TEW423-PI Revision B card with the same chipset. It would have the same problem when going above 2GB of RAM. This Rosewill driver works for that card also. After running the installer with the download, I was able to increase the RAM to 4GB without a problem.

Now the link is updated http://www.rosewill.com/support/download.aspx?ids=3_39_112_935 Is RNX-G300-E is compatible with marvell wireless chipset ? Now that link is no longer working as there are no RNX-G300-E downloads listed, stdjmax. Use this new one instead: http://www.rosewill.com/Commons/SearchResult.aspx?key=RNX-G300-E&st=2 not sure how long this one will last; the Rosewill RNX-G300E adapter is now a discontinued product The RNX-G300-E driver might be compatible with certain Marvell Libertas wireless network adapters and Netgear wireless network adapters but be sure to uninstall/delete the existing marvell/netgear network drivers first before installing the RNX-G300E drivers .

It's Apr 7, 2012. I'm setting up my new PC with the aged old Trendnet PCI wireless card, a.k.a Marvell Libertas 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Client Adapter. Exactly the same problem: Code 10 error with 4GB of RAM. What a moron can make such a crapy driver and never update it?
