Wireless Issue with 7 Starter
hello, I'm not sure if anyone has posted this before but i'm new so forgive me. yesterday i recieved a compaq mini 110(not the c). the computer seems great but i can't connect to my home network. my brother(half way techy(if that)) and i have tried everything, we even unsecured our home network but have had no luck connecting my mini to it. Lastnight and part of today i was able to connect to a network around my house but still no luck with mine. i am not quite skilled at fixing computer isssues but i would like to get this fixed. does anyne have any advice on how i can fix this problem? the wireless card within is Wireless-B+G and the router is white netgear one provided by comcast(wish i had more info on it). we've reset the router, disabled my firewall all of this funk but still no luck. can anyone help? thanks a lot!

Hi, May I know if any error message appeared when the connection failed? Since you can connect to another wireless network, I think you may check your router first; you can update the routers firmware to see how it works. Meanwhile, please also ensure that the wireless NIC driver is up-to-date. Hope this helps. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT

Did you ensure thatsimilar passphrase and ssid are set on both router as well as the netbook? Also uninstall or disable any third party firewall like ZA if there's one. If after trying the above and still no go, i'll suggest you to connect the netbook to the router config page with a ethernet cable and once you'rewithin the router config page, under wireless verifythat your netbook wireless is detected and next set the passphrase and ssid on the router config page as well as on the netbook wireless setting and remember to save before you exit from the router config pageLastly if you could give us the exactmake and model of the netgear router, it would help.
