Wireless Internet Connection Fails!
Running Windows XP Sp3 with a Linksys Wireless Router. Using Intel Pro-Set Wireless WiFi Connection Utility. When I try to connect to the internet I get on but get a msg that Authentication isn't completed" Although I get onto the Internet there are some sites I can't connect to. I did a Winsock Diagnostic. Results: Error attempting to validate the Winsock base providers: 2 Not all base service providers entries could be found in the winsock catalog. A reset is needed. This is all greek to me. Do I have a Winsock problem that needs to be repaired. I remember a long time ago I had problems getting onto the internet and was helped in re-setting either the Winsock or TCP-IP settings. I also tried to do the Intel Wireless Troubleshooter then clicked on "Follow recommended steps to resolved the issue". Up popped Intel Wireless Trouble Shooting (Tools Menu) which told me to click on the Tools Menu, the Applications Settings. This didn't show up on the menu list ? Only thing there was Manual Diagnostic Tool, so I tried that and ran the Tests offered. Everything passed ! So Why am I having a problem ? 2 people need an answerI do too
