Wireless Connection Disconnects After Signing into World of Warcraft
Every time I log into WoW, my wireless Internet connection drops. I run the WoW.exe file as an administrator. Here's my setup: OS: Windows 7 (64-bit Ultimate) Router: Netgear RangeMax NEXT Wireless-N Router WNR834B v2 Adapter: WN111 (USB) I'm able to return successful, consistent pings back from the router and other external sites without losing the connection. Any suggestions on what I can try to change in my OS or router?

Hi,Please refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.1. Please disable Wireless adapter and connect Internet via wired cable. Then, let's run WoW.exe file to play the game again. Does Internet disconnect now?2. Temporarily turn off Firewall on the machine and router (if it has) for a test.3. Upgrade the Wireless adapter driver and the firmware of the Netgear router. Thanks,Novak

Thank you for the reply. 1. No. 2. I've tried this with the Windows firewall, and even my router's firewall. With both disabled, I still get disconnected. 3. I have the very latest drivers and firmware from Netgear, but there's no official claim from them that they are Windows 7 compatible.

Hi UMGBC,try disabling windows firewall services from services.msc cause it automatically enables when u try to play the game, thats the normal behaviour of windows 7...try to check port settings and add a exception rule in firewall and manually set the ports that WOW communicates,it could possibly be a port issue,so by forwarding may resolve this issue(for ports information check the game's forum and ask the moderators)..then after altering those u can restrict the way u want from windows firewall advance security settings...hope this helps,RR
