Wireless Broadband Connection After Re-installing XP
I just re-installed XP Home on an old Gateway laptop using the disc provided by Gateway. I can't get the laptop to pick up the wireless router. I have entered all the information it requires such as the SSID and the wireless key but it just won't connect. I even tried connecting the laptop to the router with a ethernet cable but still nothing. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

What security are you using with the router and what Service Pack level are you on with XP?(AFAIK XP wouldn't connect to WPA until a certain SP/Update was installed...that may be the problem)If you find my response helpful, please click on the "Vote as Helpful" button!Thank you!My Blog

WPA encryption on the router. Service Pack 2 on XP. Do you think I need SP3 ? What does AFAIK mean ? Thanks for your help.
