I would guess you will find a checkmark in "automatically detect settings" at IE, Tools menu, options, Connection tab, "Lan Settings" buttonRating posts helps other users Mark L. Ferguson MS-MVP

Hi, I suggest that you temporary remove Norton 360. If the issue persists, follow the steps below to rest IE settings. The steps will remove all of installed add-ons and reset IE to default settings. 1. Click Start, please type inetcpl.cpl (without quotation marks) in the Start Search bar and press Enter to open the Internet options window.2. Switch to the Advanced tab.3. Click the "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" button.4. Click Reset to confirm the operation.5. Click Close when the resetting process has finished.6. Uncheck the "Enable third-party browser extensions" option in the Settings box.7. Click Apply, click OK. If the issue remains, let us know if the connection icon in Notification Area shows disconnected, or the connection problem is displayed in the IE page. Arthur Xie - MSFT
