Wipe FIM configuration

Still having a few issues with upgrading our FIM dev environment to be a replica of prod. The scripts MS provide for export & import schemas & policies work on the export side but fail on import.

Is there a way to wipe the existing FIM dev environment (i.e. remove all MA's and non standard portal content) but without having to rebuild the whole FIM server?

Thanks,

Mikey

I believe you have a few options:

1. Restore from a backup (assuming you have this)

2. Restore from VM snaphot (assuming you have this)

3. Delete custom config (manual or script it)

4. Rebuild from scratch (as you already mentioned)

It is a dev environment but I don't want to blow everything away and start from scratch so I would be keen to use option 3 but need more info on how to do that.

Thanks,

Most of these options take longer then re-installing the whole thing again.

You are better off doing the install.  And going forward, just take a snapshot of the VM (I am assuming it is a VM)

I am going to agree with Nosh. Although ... how hard have you tried to troubleshoot the FIM Migration errors on the import into Dev?

I find that often the first import or two have errors. After that I can usually get them to go fairly smoothly.

Thanks all for reply. I have started with a re-install and will be recreating all from scratch.
