Winodws 7 update error codes
I was prompted to update the Beta windows7. Upon attempting to update from the Windows update window, I received error code 80070539. No details were offered. I tried a second time, following the Help menu suggestions- the same process I had just finished- no luck. Are there any suggestions or different update methods I should be following? Thanks

Yes, the issue should be related to third party software such as Google desktop and Windows Eyes. If you have this kind of software installed, please uninstall it from Control Panel -> Programs and Features. If the issue still exists after removing the software, please temporary disable the security software such as Norton, ect and then run Windows Update. Also, you can see if the issue occurs in Clean Boot. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue. Besides, please rename Windows Update Temporary folders by the steps below: 1. Click the Start Button and type in "Notepad" (without the quotation marks) in to the Search box and press Enter. 2. Copy the following commands and paste them into the opened Notepad window: net stop wuauserv net stop Cryptsvc ren %windir%\SoftwareDistribution sdold.old ren %windir%\system32\catroot2 crt2old.old net start wuauserv net start Cryptsvc 3. After pasting the above commands, please close the Notepad window. Then choose "Save" when you are prompted to save the file. Type "temp.bat" (without the quotation marks) as the file name and choose Desktop from the left panel as the location. 4. Right click the temp.bat file on Desktop and choose Run as administrator. 5. A DOS-like window will begin processing. Then, please restart the computer and check if we can update now. If the issue persists, could you please let us know which update cannot be installed? You can check it by going to Control Panel -> Windows Update -> View update history. Hope this helps. Regards, Linda
