Windpows 7 slow logon when WiFi enabled
Questions, A) if you disable the Windows firewall on Public Network. and try to login how long does it take? Other options to check Alternativley I know this is not the answer you are looking for but a quick way is to just put the laptop in hibernation or sleep mode, coming to think about it I don't even remember when was the last time I turn off my laptop completely. Your other CO workers does this happen to them? IF NOT then ask your domain administrators to create a new profile for you. and link the exchange mail to it. I guess avoid a roaming profile will always help. Goood luck finding an answer. Yair.

Hi there, I hope for some pointers to work out a little challenge I have. I am not necessarily the techies guy around so bear with me... I have a laptop w/Win7 installed. It's a corporate issued laptop and configuration. When it;s hooked to the corporate network, the logon time is reasonable fast. When I use the same laptop and same domain/username & password (which is cached) on any public WiFi network, the logon is slow (2.5 minutes). I believe this is because laptop realizes it is on a network, tries to connect to a (non available) DC to verify authentication credentials...or something along those lines. It then probably timeouts...and the login moves successfully forward. If I turn WiFi off on laptop before initiating login, it takes a marvelous <30 seconds only. So I guess I am looking for some registry key (or some other mechanism) telling my laptop to skip any connection to any DC when on WiFi.... Any pointers or info would be helpful. /jarle PS! I have the standard Win7 image as background...so not a problem there
