Windows update error code 800B0100
I received updates last nite, and all installed except for "Update for Windows junk e-mail filter for X-64 based systems (December 2007) KB905866" I downloaded it from the MS site, and tried to install it manually, but it too failed. The error code translates into " No signature was present in the subject" Does this mean that the download is corrupted?

Hi purple! Thanks for the reply, and I did a search for my problem, and found the same thread, but I don't think anyone fixed the update problem, without doing a reinstall. I tthink in the future, I'm going to take my network machinesoff auto update, and review updates before I download them! This time, I was able to just hide this problem, so it doesn't haunt me every time I boot up.

I get this error message and I am using an X32 bit version of Vista. It is you Live OneCare that is requiring me to make this upgrade; however, it will not download. I quess not if I am not X64 bit. But I did not seek this out. Your stupid live management program does that and I can't get a good rating on Live OneCare because it tell me to download an update that I can't. The program know I an running Vista Home Permium. What is going on?????

Hi, Have you tried the steps in my reply posted at "24 Dec 2007, 9:50 PM" ? Also, please try to rename the "SoftwareDistribution" folder and re-run Windows Update again to test this issue. However, if the issue persists, please submit a new thread for your new issue. Thanks! Sincerely, Robbin Meng Microsoft Online Community Support

hello robbin meng. i do appologise, but not all of us people that own a microsoft run computer are ,are tech heads. all the above instructions would confuse us normall people, why should i haveto waiste my time and effort to messup my computer by doing the above steps. why cant microsoft just make a product that can work properly. we purchase a product that doesnt work properly and i do appreciate that u guys do attemt to fix the issues when they are found. but why cant it work properly to begin with and why cant the updates actually work properly on install. if i worked like that i would be fired. now is there a normall way to fix microsofts shortcomeings. or do i haveto waise my hard earned money to have a computer guy fix it?thank you
