Windows update default settings pulled me out of a game midway
Normally I set my windows update to run when I want it to. Having recently re-installed and not taken the time to set everything up, I was in the middle of a game when all of a sudden the machine went into a restart. Windows 7 has made huge progress in terms of user-experience as we all know, but that was a shock to me. Surely the windows update restart can be set to not automatically restart unless the machine is idle for a period, or perhaps when in a full-screen app. This is clearly a time when you don't want the machine to restart and you won't see the messages. If I wasn't a tech-head I would be alarmed and confused, I probably wouldn't understand what had happened. Even though I knew what it was (because of the messages on the logoff screen) I was still mighty frustrated that I had just been yanked out of my game.. Luckily I'd just saved so no harm done but it could have been a disaster in an MMO for example.. I just wanted to suggest that the default should not be "yank me out of whatever I'm doing by force".. It's only an update and could be performed when I CHOOSE to restart my machine next time. Thanks for listening Pras
