Windows store Lync app, URI help

We are developing a Windows Store app on the 8.1 framework and are trying to invoke the Windows Store Lync application by using URIs. This works great for the TEL URI since Lync is set up to listen for it. Unfortunately, it does not want to listen to anything with SIP or IM (as the desktop version does).

I just need to know what URI and parameters are needed to make Lync open a new IM conversation.

Thanks!

Hi,

Did you mean displaying an instant messaging (IM)-only Conversation window with the SIP URI?

You can refer to the link below:

Eason,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, this is the correct idea, but this documentation is for the desktop version of Lync 2013 client.  I wish to do the same thing with the Windows Store version of the app.  It only appears to be registered for the "TEL": URI.

I'd like to know how to tell the app to start a new IM conversation (just as the "SIP:" or "IM:" URIs do for the desktop version)

Not sure if this would work but you can take a look at the registry keys mentioned in the following article.

The IM Providers or DefaultIMApp keys might just work.
