Windows states it is not genuine and asks for product key - have I made it worse by entering the product key?
I've seen on the forums other people typed in the product key and the 'Windows is not genuine' went away, however came back after a week.. Just wondering if typing the product key in has made it worse? Is there any way to fix this, if so how? Also, in order to activate windows I right clicked on my computer clicked on properties then clicked on 'Activate windows' so surely the activation was genuine? My main concern is that I have a virus and someones taken my product key?

No one will be able to get and steal your key. For Windows activation related information, please access the following website. Activate Windows 7 on this computer http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/activate-windows-7-on-this-computerPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 ) Once saved, run the tool. Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report. To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response. - IN YOUR OWN THREAD, please -- Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth
