Windows not starting
My Windows XP locks up on start-up witht he blue status bar on the windows screen freezes. I can get it started in safe mode but don't know how to check the problem. My guess is that I added an Age of Empires II game to the windows\Microsoftgames file and it has caused some problems with the software. When I tried logging in in safe mode with command prompt, it locked up with the following last line of start-up multi(0)dick(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS\System2\DRIVERS\agp440.sys. I've also been able to get the windows login in prompt in safe mode but after that I got the "blue Screen" with the following technical information: ***STOP: 0x0000000C,0x000000FF,0x00000000,0x804E8A2B). I've also received another message on a blue screen: STOP: c000021a Unknown Hard Error. At this point I'd like to get the software off from the c: prompt but don't know how to do that in safe mode. Also, I have a lot of pictures and etc. that I'd like to save to my external hard drive back up if I need to reload windows. Thanks for any help!!!
