Windows not connecting after a filed connection attempt.
I often connect to another computer thru the network, remote desktop and just accessing the file system are the most common but I see a similar issue with http to a nas server. If I attempt to connect and it fails for a valid reason (the other computer has gone into standby for example) after the issue is resolved (it's back up and running) I will still be unable to connect. However if I remote desktop into a 3rd computer and from there remote desktop into the original it works. Window acts like it is attempting to connect but for whatever reason it seams to remember that it couldn't previously and fails after the time out for as far as I can tell no reason. Rebooting the computer I'm at will solve the issue. I've been seeing this for a while, it affects both my home and work systems. Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it or at least forcibly reset it without rebooting the entire computer?

1. What really happens would doscover analysis of netwotk monitor and event logs. 2. This may help you resolve the problem (avoid hybernation and sleep mode) http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-Remote-Desktop-problems 3. Give try to cleaning remote services http://www.windowstipspage.com/2010/11/clear-remote-desktop-connection-history.html Regards Milos

Try following: -Try to download and install latest wireless/wired network adapter from vendor website if available -Disable and re-enable wireless or wired network adapter, after that try to connect again. Hope this helps. dawooddoe Home Network & Wireless Network Help
