Windows installer pops up
When I try to open any new program, or many files, windows installer begins to open adn then tries to load earthlink accelerator which I got rid of a long time ago. It takes several clicks on cancel to continue. It seems many many people have had similar problems and I have found no solution to the problem yet. Please, some help for dummies!!1 person needs an answerI do too

What are the programs you are having issue with?Put the computer in a clean boot state and check if you are able to open programs.a. Putting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.b. At the command prompt, type the following, and then press Enter after each line:MSIExec /unregisterMSIExec /regserverc. Thank you for trying to help. I have done everything you suggested and nothing gets rid of the windows installer pop-up. I can't beleive this is such a difficult problem to solve. Can anybody offer a solution. It is getting very old and annoying.Thanks for tryingTom
