When I turn on my computer I immediately get a Windows Installer box and it says it is trying to install a file (i.e. Roxio, or it could be any other file). I can't get rid of the Installer box and it keeps flashing on my screen. Also, when try to download the latest version of adobe flash or adobe PDF reader I don't get the yellow band with the sentence asking me if I want to install the active X program. I hear a beep sound, but the yellow band with the message doesn't come up. I ran a virus scan with the microsoft program and I don't have any viruses. How do I resolve this issue? The very same tig has been happening to me. If i can get the task manager for earthinlink to engaged, I will get earthlink tar.msi and underneath is a long slender box says something like C:// documents and settings/windows accessories--Sometimes I will get ad error #1706 from earthink task panel--I just x out of it -- then the earthlin tar.msi returns to the screen along the slender box that reads something like C:// documents and settings/ windows accessories---The WINDOWS INSTALLER POP=UP WILL CEASE
