Hi,· Does this happen only when you click on the internet explorer or with every application?· Do you remember making any changes to the system?· Which version of internet explorer is installed on the system? I would suggest you to follow the methods mentioned below. Method 1:I would suggest you to unregister and reregister the Windows installer on the system.a. Log on to your computer as an administrator.b. Click Start, and then click Run.c. In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.d. At the command prompt, type msiexec.exe /unregister, and then press ENTER.e. Type msiexec /regserver, and then press ENTER.Now check whether the issue is resolved. Method 2:Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following link.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756 I would suggest you to Repair Windows Installera. Click Start, go to Run, type in "Regedit" and press Enter.b. In Registry Editor, browse to the following registry folder:"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSIServer" by clicking the PLUS (+) sign.c. Highlight the "MSIServer" folder in the left pane, and double click the item "ImagePath" in the right pane.d. Its value should be "C:\Windows\System32\msiexec.exe /V" (without the quotes). If not, please change it to the above value.Note: There is a space between msiexec.exe and /V. I am assuming that Windows is installed on the C drive.e. Restart your computer. Thank you and Regards. Thanks Thahaseena for trying to help me resolve this issue.I did try both methods but unfortunately neither one worked. I also reinstalled ie8, and windows installer 4.5 but again it didn't resolve the problem. If you can think of anything else I would appreciate itThanks Ric
