Windows ignores orders to wake from sleep: have to insist for several minutes.
I had this issue in the Beta, but after installing the Final buil the problem went away. Unfortunately, in the last few days it has come back. My desktop computer goes to sleep during the night and in the morning i usually click some of the keyboard keys (PS2) to wake him up. This is now a troublesome task as windows ignores the commands and in order to wake the computer I have to click in several keys for several minutes until it finally decides to wake. Some times, I simply give up and prefer to shut it down and start from a cold boot. I wonder if this could be a drivers issues (I've upgraded bios not long time ago - will check if latest on the next boot) since it worked fine in the first month. It just started to behave badly in the last week. Any Ideas?

HI UPS2 firstly update your BIOS Hot fix download available try it. follow this Click Start Orb > type cmd in the search box > right-click cmd in results above > click Run as administrator - At the prompt type powercfg -devicequery > press enter, it tells you what devices may cause problems with sleep mode Also, update all the device drivers including chipset driver, mouse driver and display card driver. Please run Windows Update and keep the system update to date. Besides, if there is any security (anti-virus, anti-spyware) software installed, temporary disable or turn them off to check the result. if the issue persists you can also perform Clean Boot test How to perform Clean Boot: 1. Click Start, type MSCONFIG in the Search Bar and Press Enter to start the System Configuration Utility. Please click Continue if the "User Account Control" window pops up. 2. Click the Services tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click Disable All (if it is not gray). 3. Click the Startup tab, click Disable All and click OK. 4. Restart the computer and test the issue. ==> Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled during the troubleshooting, we can enable them later. If there appears System Configuration Utility , check the box of "Don't show this message" and then click OK. Hope it helps Nikhil

BIOS already has the latest firmware. Installed hotfix and will test in the following days to see if it works. powercfg -devicequery by it self is not a valid comand. devicequery expects a parameter and without it, it fails. Will continue to monitor computer.

After the fix, the problem still occurs. Yesterday it waked up after a few minutes of baging on the keyaboard. Today I had to reset it. Hi the mouse or keyboard sends the signal to system for the operation that generally not required. i suggest you to click on the driver in device manager and bring the properties menu up and uncheck allow this device to wake the computer from sleep mode . if persists , have you performed Clean Boot for this test, if no please perform if above suggestion did not work Nikhil

A followup: I'm still trying to find what is causing the issue. Is not easily reproducible since it requires a wait time and reboots. With the holidays I stopped the experiments a bit. In January I'll retry to find the cause and eventually do a new format: that is always the perfect solution to solve problems. PS: Amazingly, it started to happen the same with my laptop. Used to simply close the lid to get it to sleep, now it won't wake up when opening it again.
