Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown?
I am having a problem. Every time I either go to restart my computer or shutdown (the shutdown is unsuccessful), I get a blue screen problem with all sorts of stuff I don't understand except for "crash."
Upon signing back into Windows, (I have Win7, 64x), I receive a message saying that my windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. After clicking on "check for solutions," nothing happens. All I've been able to do is view the
detail report which shows this following:
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.48
Locale ID: 1033
Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: fe
BCP1: 0000000000000008
BCP2: 0000000000000006
BCP3: 0000000000000006
BCP4: FFFFFA80056C4B20
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\120910-34320-01.dmp
C:\Users\mine\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-15862883-0.sysdata.xml
Please help! I have absolutely no idea what to do with this. It might be helpful to know that Windows isn't (or hasn't yet) shut down on me while I am on, however, it's happened all times I have tried to restart and what not.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Open up a DOS prompt. (click start > type cmd into the find bar > hit enter)
Type in SFC /scannow
That (system file checker) will check your files for corruption and whatnot...

@Ikky-san,
I tried what you said but what's coming up is that I must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility.
As I am indeed the administrator, would you happen to know how I could let DOS know? (as if dos is some kind of person now..haha)

ok, nevermind, I figured out how to run it as admin. doing that now. thanks.

Bug Check 0xFE: BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER
This indicates that an error has occurred in a Universal Serial Bus (USB) driver.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff560407%28VS.85%29.aspx
Which USB Devices do you use?
To see the cause I have to take a look at the dumps with the Debugging Tools for Windows.
Please start the Windows Explorer and go to the folder C:\Windows\Minidump. Next, copy the dmp files to your desktop, zip all dmp into 1 zip file and upload the zip file to your public Skydrive [1] folder and post a link here.

and as for USB devices, those would simply be mouse, keyboard, and webcam (which I haven't used in ages).

make sure your Windows is configured to generate dumps:

Disable the webcam and look if this fixes the issue.

Ok Andre, I disabled my webcam, configured windows to generate dumps, restarted my computer (blue screen still came up but skipped through so fast I couldn't read anything this time), got the same "unexpected shutdown" message, viewed report to
make sure all was the same as what the original support said (it was), then went to check my windows/minidump folder and whew, there was one dmp file.
From there, I did all the stuff you said I should do which was uploaded it to my Skydrive (which I never even knew I had) and made it public. I really hope this file is helpful to you in possibly solving my situation. Thank you for sticking around
this long so far.

Hi Jennifer,
you have uploaded a shortcut. You have to copy the dmp file.

I know I probably sound ridiculous but I thought that was what I was doing. I'll try it again but in the meantime, just in case, would you mind telling me how?

Ty, I did figure that out. I never knew you could just copy to a desktop like that.. had to call my boyfriend. Oh boy. Ok, it should be all set for you to look at now. And keep in mind, there was only one file in there after I restarted
the comp.

The F11C vrsn is not compatible with win7 64-bit so I'm gonna see which one is. After that I'll let you know when the update has been completed.

Ok, I've gone all the way down to F5 and it all still says incompatible. I'm not sure what to do now..

I guess I'm a bit nervous b/c I keep seeing cautions on hurting your system when messing around with the BIOS stuff.
December 9th, 2010 7:03pm
Well, I updated the BIOS successfully and went into it at start-up to "Load Optimized Default" and then saved. However, my system is still crashing upon re-start/shutdown. I'm not sure if you're still around tonight but if you are and
you think you might have any more suggestions, they'd be very welcome. Otherwise, maybe I'll hear back from you tomorrow unless someone else happens upon this thread and has a thing or two to throw in.
Thank you again for everything.

I was already sleeping ( I'm from Germany) when you replied the last times.
Do you use special drivers for your mouse/keyboard? Plug them into different USB ports. Does it help?

Hi Andre,
Thanks for getting back to me. Speaking of Germany, I am part German & am really excited to learn the language. But that's rather off topic so back on it; I don't use any special drivers for my mouse/keyboard and
plugging them into different USB ports didn't help at all. I'm just not sure what to do anymore. I know that my boyfriend had used my computer and he tends to download things to put on dvd for himself. Could that have been it? I noticed
the problem shortly after he was over but can't be sure if that's what caused it because I don't usually shut my computer off or restart it much. He's not been of any help so my hands are up in the air at this point. I'm just not sure what to do
anymore.

Andre,
I'm not sure if you are still paying any attention to this thread but I did a memory diagnostics test and although it did not show me the problem, it did say there was one and that windows cannot shut down. I also ran Verifier
but that did not help out as I keep getting the blue screen. However, I just checked my minidmp files again to see if anything else had been added and there were a few more. I posted them on my skydrive and am hoping you could possibly take a look
at them for me. If those prove unhelpful as well, I believe I am just going to have to save things I need from my computer and reformat. I wish I knew of another way to get in touch with you but this will have to do. Thank you for all your
prior help and if you are still able to look into this for me, I'd more than appreciate it.

Hi Jennifer,
I still pay attention to this topic.
I talked to someone else about the issue and he told me that you should contact the MS support directly about the issue.
