Windows firewall doesn't support applications in a mounted directory
If I have a disk volume with drive letter D: and volume name \\?\Volume{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}\, and the volume is mounted to directory "C:\Applications" by using the following command: mountvol C:\Applications \\?\Volume{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}\ Then disable the access to the volume by its own drive letter: mountvol D:\ /d Now, any program in "C:\Applications" that attempts to listen for incoming network traffic won't trigger the firewall notifications, and there's even no way to configure the firewall to make such a program work properly - unless the firewall is entirely disabled! Is there any explaination for this behavior? And how to fix this? Thanks.
