Windows firewall blocking roaming profiles loading
Hi I am TRYING to implement roaming profiles with folder redirection for a Windows 7 deployment. After quite a bit of troubleshooting I have workout out that something with Windows firewall is causing profiles not to load, as it works fine when the firewall service is disabled. When the firewall is enabled I get this error message: "Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you log off. This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights" I do have quite a few setting customized in the firewall policy so it would take me ages to try one at a time. I have added the servers IP address that hosts the profiles store into the exceptions attribute under domain profiles for: Windows Firewall: Allow inbound file and printer sharing exceptions Windows Firewall: Allow inbound remote administration exceptions Can anyone think of a setting in Windows firewall group policy that would be blocking profiles from loading?JC

I suggest you try to find which Windows Firewall Policy causes this issue. You may disable one of them and check if the issue still occurs each time.Arthur Xie - MSFT
