Windows firewall - Notify when outbound connection is made.
Windows Vista's firewall is default set to allow all outbound connections. I want to block both incomming and outgoing connections which can be done by configuring the firewall with advaced settings. The problem is that everything will get blocked without telling me about it, which means that i manually have to open the firewall-configuration and add exceptions for all my programs. I want to get a notification when a program is trying to do an outbound connection and answer the question "would you like to add an exception for this program" or something. Just like the notification that pops up when a program tries to do an inbound connection.I've looked everywhere for this option but can't seem to find it. Is this even possible? If not, is there any reason why?

It is not possible to do a such thing. If you've got a blocked program by your firewall, use a sniffer to determine the needed ports to open. This is the only possible way to proceed.
This is a link to download a know sniffer which is wireshark: http://www.wireshark.org/
Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post
does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
Best regards.
