Windows cannot print due to problems with the current printer setup
Hi, wonder if anyone can direct to me answer to this? I have a few Laptops running Windows 7 Enterprise edition and they all at somepoint or another loose their printer settings. I get various errors ranging from the one in the title of this thread - Windows cannot print due to problems with the current printer setup or error connecting to printer, or the print spooler is not working. The printers are all on printer servers running either Win Server 2003 or 2008. Initlally I thought it was the driver so I installed the latest drivers for our printers which are HP Printer's. The latest driver being the HP Universal PCL6 (v5.2). This appeared to have resolved the issue, but after a month the problem returns and I have to remove the printer from the server rather than the laptop as doing this fails because the laptop fails to connect to the printer. In all this has now happened 4 times and is getting a tad annoying -- Help! Regards Andy

Hi, I would like to confirm the following details: 1. Can you access the network share of Window servers when this issue occurred? 2. Can you find any useful information in Event Viewer? 3. What are the exact messages? 4. Did this issue occur to all Windows servers? Currently, I suggest you try the following steps to check how it works: Note: please backup your registry before performing this operation. 1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. 2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters 3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. 4. Type SMB2, and then press ENTER. 5. On the Edit menu, click Modify. 6. Type 0 (zero), and then click OK. 7. Exit Registry Editor. 8. Restart the computer. Hope it helps.
