Windows cannot find/connect to wireless network after a restart
I moved the computer to a different office, which has no ethernet points, so it was decided to use wireless temporarily. I installed the wireless USB adapter as per manufacturers instructions. I had to manually start the WZC. I was able to successfully connect to the company's secure network. Upon restart, however, it will no longer even find the network - sometimes the network list shows no networks, sometimes it shows a network from an adjacent building, and sometimes it shows our company network with "automatic" in the top right hand corner - but it never actually connects to the network. I have tried refreshing the network list numerous times, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter, and I have restarted the wireless router. My blackberry is connected fine to the wireless network so I know its working and the problem must lie with the computer/adapter. Thank you Sabani However, my adapter is properly configured to access the WPA-PSK secured network (hence the reason it connected fine the first time round), and so that cannot be the problem. Thanks for the help, though - it is appreciated! Anyone have any other ideas?Profession: IT Administator for a UK Small Business | Level of Expertise: Intermediate (Self-Taught)

I have a similar problem. I started with a Belkin Plug & Play wireless N. I spent hours troubleshooting on my own, and then another two hours with Belkin's tech support, who got frustrated and decided it was because it was xp and suggested I ask Microsoft for a driver patch. Can't find that anywhere.Returned the Belkin and got the best netgear wireless usb adapter, to go with the brand new netgear wireless n router. Same kind of problem. I've got a WII & a Roku player picking up the router fine. The computer itself was running on a wireless card a few years ago - no problems. All configurations have been tried and tested, absolutely nothing gets the computer to connect and it's cramping my studio flow. Big Time.

I'm not using a Belkin adapter but I have the same proble, The wireless icon shows it's connected, it claims it's on the network, but I can't connect to anything. After a few minutes the connection pukes and I have to manually reconnect. I've tried bother the WPa password and the network password but still nothing. IT worked fine before I moved the machine one floor in our house. Two laptops have no problems connecting.Fr Elise - Support the Heart & Breast Cancer Foundations. http://www.amazon.com/Gospel-Our-Lord-Jesus-Christ/dp/1449947565/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265754374&sr=1-15
