Windows cannot connect to the Internet using HTTP, HTTPS or FTP.  This is probably caused by firewall settings on this computer.
I have a Toshiba Satellite M105-S3041 laptop with Windows XP Home Edition. I received the error message listed above stating that Windows cannot connect to the Internet using HTTP, HTTPS or FTP. When I open up the Wireless Network Connection Status box, I can see the sent packets being sent and I can also see that I am receiving packets as well. When opening up Internet Explorer, I received the error message listed above. When I go to my wireless adapter's properties and look at the properties of the TCP/IP settings, I see that I have the "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" checked. On the TCP/IP Properties general tab, I clicked the Advanced tab and clicked on the options tab to view the TCP/IP filtering settings box and clicked the properties button. There I see that the TCP, UDP and IP PROTOCOL ports. I have a check in the box labeled "Enable TCP/IP Filtering". Please help me because I am still unable to connect to the internet. 17 people need an answerI do too
