Windows become deselected on an hourly basis, Blue Screen of Death on a daily basis.
On an hourly basis, whatever window I am on becomes deselected (and drops out of full screen). Around the same time I noticed this large inconvenience, I also encountered the blue screen of death on a daily basis (usually after recovering from stand by). I have run virus scans in safe mode and come up with nothing.1 person needs an answerI do too

OK then If chkdsk found something there might be a problem with the hard drive. Make sure you have all your files backed up as a precaution. Then run a manufacturers diagnostic on the drive http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 If you don't know the make of hard drive Hitachi Drive Fitness Test will work with any make. The Hitachi 3rd download is for a bootable CD These files need to be burned as an ISO file using a program like Imgburn http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download Start ImgBurn. You will see the the main programme window and a log.In the main programme window >> click "Write image file to disc".New window: Make sure ImgBurn has found your CD/DVD burner (Destination). Then click the "Browse for a file" icon.Another window will open >> find and select the ISO image you want to burn >> click Open.Back at the main programme window. Click "Write".ThenConfigure your PC to boot from CD if it isn't already set up that way. You may need to enter the BIOS to configure the PC to boot from the CD.Set the boot order to floppy (if present)CD/DVDROMHard diskSAVE and EXITPut the CD in the drive and reboot. It should run then. ALSO Have a look in these places for errors1. Right click My Computer / Properties / Hardware / Device Manager.Look for "Yellow" errors2. Control Panel / Performance and Maintenance / Admin Tools / Event Viewer / System.Look for "Red" errors. Double click on error.Take a note of the Event ID and also the Source and post them back. .

However these are my red errors from the past 3 days (tell me if you want more): (16/12) Windows Update Agent : 20 (16/12) Service Control Manager : 7024 (15/12) Service Control Manager: 7026 (15/12) Windows Update Agent: 20 (15/12) Service Control Manager: 7024 (14/12) Dhcp: 1002 (14/12) Tcpip: 4199 (14/12) Tcpip: 4199 (14/12) Tcpip: 4199 (14/12) Tcpip: 4199 (14/12) Service Control Manager: 7026 (14/12) Windows Update Agent: 20 (14/12) Service Control Manager: 7024 (13/12) Windows Update Agent: 20 (13/12) Service Control Manager: 7024 (13/12) Browser : 8032

OK thenService ControlManager covers a multitude of sins and is almost implssible to pin down. However there is a Windows Update problem too.first, turn off Windows Updates for the time being. Then check this site. It suggests the error could be caused by Flash Player. Do you have the latest player?http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

I had the latest version, but I didn't have the most recent update. I've updated it now.
