Windows automatically delete default language pack
I purchased this laptop several days ago. It starts to auto-delete my language pack once three days, which leave my laptop to a completely random language which I totally do not understand. I would need to use the system restore to a previous point to get back my language pack. My event shows this: Microsoft Product: Windows Operating System ; Version: 6.1.7600.16385 ; Event ID: 1018 ; Location ID: 1033 Event Source: Microsoft-Windows-LanguagePackSetup ; I am wondering how this problem could happen and how to solve it.

Please help us clarify the following questions first:1. Which language package have you installed?2. Which language package is lost?3. Which one is set as default? 4. Is your Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise? Generally, the language package won't be moved automatically unless you remove it manually. Since your laptop is a new one, you can ask the after-sale service to replace a new one for you. If you want to fix your issue, please let us know more inforamtion at your first convenience. In my opinion, it's better to remove the unnecessary language packages from your computer first, you can run LPKSETUP in Command Prompt, then you would get the window to remove the language package. After that, you can try to install the language packages as you wish.Good luck! John
