Windows and WMDC
I have a Windows 7 Ultimate desktop with plenty of disk and ram space.I have a HTC6500 windows mobile device.I was able to install and get the device syncing. During that session i could disconnect and re-connect any number of time and still sync.I have left it a few days and had to get some other devices connected like iPhone and it remore application which required my to add a few more exceptions to the firewall, restart and then connect all ok.now when i try to connect the HTC it tries to connect then times out without errors displayed.this has happened before and i just uninstalled everything and started from scratch.Clearly i dont want to have to do that each day or after i install someting else.IdeasGraeme

Hi, I suggest performing a System Restore first: System Restore ============= 1. Click the Start Button, type "system restore" (without quotations) in the start search box and press enter. 2. Click "Choose a different point" and click next. 3. Check Show more restore points box. 4. Choose a date before this issue happening, and click Next. 5. Click Finish. If it does not work, try the following steps: Reinstall Windows Mobile Remote Adapter ======================= 1. Connect the mobile phone, click the Start Button, type "Device Manager" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box and press Enter. 2. Look under the "Network adapters" node for "Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter". Right-click "Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter" and choose to "Uninstall" 3. Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box if available, click OK. 4. Look under the "Mobile Devices" node for "Microsoft USB Sync". Right-click "Microsoft USB Sync" and choose to "Uninstall". 5. Restart the computer. In addition, I suggest temporarily disabling the security programs such as the Firewall and Anti-virus.Vivian Xing - MSFT
