I'm guessing you tried both options?Anyway...sounds like it may be time for a new hard drive. Might be worth a try to contact Acer support.Volunteer J - MS-MVP - Digital Media Experience - Notice_This is not tech support_I am a volunteer - Solutions that work for me may not work for you - ***Proceed at your own risk***

Sounds to me like a driver issue since it loads in safe mode and not normal mode. Try doing a clean boot following the instructions below. You can use the Guided help which will do this for you if you start the computer in safe mode with networking. Click on the link below.start in a "clean boot" stateRegards,JoelFree computer support and diagnostics -->> http://repairbotsonline.forumotion.com/

Deleted the Event log (or rather renamed it) from Safe Mode with Command Prompt (which was the only access I had from a 'normal' boot)Discovered the cause when I managed to get access, and wanted to have a look at the event logs to see if there was anything there - it locked solid on the System log, so I took a small chance and renamed it, and I was back in - surprised the heck out of me!Saved all the hassle of trying to find registry errors, etc. from a Bart boot :)Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC
