Windows XP laptop hibernates immediately after waking up
My wife has a laptop running Win XP Pro SP3. Her normal 'shutdown' procedure is to press the power button, which hibernates the system. To restart, she presses the power button again to wake up. All this works as expected, except about every second or third time it wakes up - about 5 or 10 seconds after starting up, it hibernates again! It wakes up into the login screen, and if it's going to hibernate again, it does it before she can even tries to log in again. You don't even have to touch anything - it will just hibernate on its own. Very annoying...I have tried shutting it down the OS and restarting it, and also disabling the hibernate function, deleting the hiber file and then reenabling hibernate, but the problem continues.Does anyone have any idea what else I can try? This is an HP nc6000 laptop with 1Gb ram, running Win XP Pro Vers 2002 SP3 with all the latest MS updates.Thanks!1 person needs an answerI do too
